Kamsons Pharmacy is seeking a skilled and caring Healthcare Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting our pharmacy team in delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a friendly and professional service to customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve sales targets and provide a seamless customer experience.
  • Follow sales processes, including the sale of over-the-counter medication and pharmacy merchandise, and maintain accurate records.
  • Use the 2WHAM questioning technique to ensure customers receive the correct advice and support.
  • Provide advice to patients on the use of medicines and general health and lifestyle matters.
  • Receive and hand out prescriptions under the supervision of the Responsible Pharmacist.
  • Collect prescription charges and ensure patient declarations are correctly filled in and signed.
  • Order stock in line with company procedures to meet customer demand and minimize losses.
  • Maintain attractive displays and implement price changes or promotions.
  • Undertake housekeeping duties to ensure sales and back-shop areas are clean and tidy.
  • Process invoices and paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the delivery of additional services, such as stop smoking advice and blood pressure testing, following adequate training.
  • Accurately label and dispense prescriptions against prescriptions.

Requirements

  • Previous pharmacy or retail experience is an advantage, although we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
