SEN Teaching Assistant Job Description

At Tradewind Recruitment, we are currently seeking a number of SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis. Our partner schools require daily cover for sickness and training days, and we need your support to provide a consistently high quality of service for staff and pupils.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils within the classroom and on a 1:1 basis, minimising disruption and providing a positive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and pupils, using excellent communication skills to build strong relationships.
  • Remain patient and calm in challenging circumstances, providing a stable and supportive presence.
  • Work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances, with little to no notice of the supply day you will be covering.
  • Lend support to others and ask for support when needed, demonstrating excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with primary aged children (EYFS, KS1 and KS2).
  • Experience within the care, special needs, or primary sector.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
  • A positive, can-do attitude towards working with children.
