Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planner to join our team at Cheshire West and Chester Council. As a key member of our planning team, you will play a crucial role in managing and determining complex planning applications, ensuring sustainable development across the borough.

About the Role

This is a hybrid worker role, allowing you to split your time between home and our new offices in Ellesmere Port. You will be responsible for:

  • Managing and determining complex planning applications, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Collaborating with our planning enforcement and planning policy teams to achieve our goals.
  • Providing excellent customer service and communication to stakeholders, including residents, developers, and other external parties.
  • Conducting site visits and attending remote meetings to gather information and assess applications.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in planning, preferably in a local authority environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A full UK Driving Licence and access to a car for site visits and meetings.
  • A commitment to providing outstanding customer service and ensuring the highest standards of professionalism.
