Hours: 25 hours per week (with potential for increased hours)
Compensation: £24 per hour
Purpose of the Role
The American School in London is in search of an Educational Support Facilitator to provide individualized assistance to a student with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Comprehensive training focused on supporting students with visual impairments will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored support to a student, aiding in the achievement of their educational objectives.
- Collaborate with classroom educators to adapt instructional materials as necessary.
- Work alongside teaching staff to ensure the curriculum effectively meets the student's learning requirements.
- Introduce key concepts and new tools to the student as needed.
- Assist in developing executive functioning skills.
- Address challenges related to access to educational resources and technology.
- Maintain regular communication with the Director of Student Support Services, Learning Support team leader, and Visual Impairment Teacher from the Local Authority to ensure compliance with the EHCP.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree-level education is preferred.
- Previous experience in an educational environment is advantageous.
- Experience working with adolescents in a school setting is beneficial.
- Prior experience as a Learning Support Assistant is a plus.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms, particularly in creating visual data presentations.
- Familiarity with cultural competency initiatives aimed at promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the educational setting.
