Commercial Officer Job Description

Conventus Solutions Limited is seeking a skilled Commercial Officer to join its team. As a key member of the procurement department, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and ensuring the successful delivery of commercial and contractual solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and administer contracts and purchase orders with customers and suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, including flow down terms for supplier contracts.
  • Provide commercial and contractual support to bids, including proposal development and review.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver profitable commercial and contractual solutions, mitigating risks and ensuring governance.
  • Offer expert advice on commercial policy to directors and non-commercial staff, highlighting the value of commercial processes.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years' experience in a commercial field, preferably within the defence sector.
  • Experience working with the UK MOD on proposals and contracts.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, intellectual property, and UK Defence terms and conditions.
  • Proven track record of supporting negotiation and contract management activities.
  • Knowledge of international contracts, ITAR, and EAR.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present complex information effectively.
