About the Role
The Railfreight team at Network Rail is seeking a highly experienced Lead Business Transformation Manager to drive business growth and lead strategic change initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing key projects and business change activities linked to our five-year delivery plan and performance strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver strategic business change initiatives to drive growth and improvement
- Lead liaison with the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) for national and local freight growth initiatives
- Provide assurance of key rail freight growth initiatives being delivered within the control period
- Interface with a wide variety of stakeholders, both internal and external
- Work with Regional colleagues to ensure freight trains are fitted with European Train Control System (ETCS) technology
- Contribute to the realisation of benefits and ensure clear accountabilities exist
About the Team
Our team at Network Rail is responsible for providing essential services directly for our freight customers, as well as acting as the voice and 'guiding mind' for rail freight across our organisation. We offer our customers one key interface for both immediate and longer-term strategic matters, with the industry focused on growing by 8% in CP7.
What We Do
We keep supermarkets stocked, builders building, and medicine moving. Given that a single freight train can replace up to a mile of lorries on a stretch of motorway, we can make a huge contribution to the sustainability agenda. Our mission is to accelerate the shift to rail.
Requirements
- Senior project manager with an excellent track record of delivering large scale business change within a complex blue-chip business or government function
- Extensive experience in defining, tracking, and delivering business benefit in change management initiatives
- Results orientation, with a passion for delivery
- Effective interpersonal skills and an ability to use influence to gain buy-in to enable change to happen
- Commercial awareness
- An ability to work well under pressure in a rapidly evolving environment
