Montracon is seeking a skilled Production Operative with electrical experience to join their team in Market Weighton. As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for wiring internal and external lights to trailers, working on refrigerated products with experience in 24-volt electrical systems, and performing other electrical tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wiring of internal and external lights to trailers
  • Working on refrigerated products with some experience with 24-volt electrical systems, repairing and fitting wiring looms
  • Splicing wires together, where required
  • Testing lights to ensure safe working order
  • Plan work to minimize waste of raw materials as well as working in a clean and tidy manner
  • Work in accordance with Company operating procedures and guidelines
  • Read and assess production information for required specification details, working in an organized manner to ensure the task is completed efficiently, to the correct standard and within the necessary time frame
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form
  • Conduct basic quality control checks
  • Ensure the safe operation of machinery within the area of responsibility
  • Use a variety of hand-held tools and crane operation to build trailers in accordance with SOPs
Requirements
  • Use tools and equipment used in trailer bodybuilding
  • Electrical experience i.e. wiring of lights, sockets, and other electrical components
  • General knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of trailer bodybuilding
  • Skill in the use and care of hand and power tools and equipment necessary to prepare, fit, and fasten body components
  • Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time as required by work assignments
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good manual dexterity requires the ability to handle a variety of items such as hand tools
  • Experience in the manufacture of trailers and trailer bodies is desirable

Working Hours
