Job Title: Actuarial Function Specialist

Canada Life Limited is seeking an experienced Actuarial Function Specialist to join our team. As an Actuarial Function Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of core oversight tasks of the Actuarial Function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head of Actuarial Function Oversight and Partial Internal Model (AFS & PIM) in maintaining the actuarial governance processes and providing overview and challenge to actuarial deliveries.
  • Oversee Canada Life Limited's Partial Internal Model (PIM) methodology, PIM calibration, and 1st line validation of PIM.
  • Deliver high-quality and effective PIM reporting to meet the needs of senior management and the Board.
  • Support the Head of AFS & PIM in ensuring the success of the wider team by effective communication and stakeholder management with senior executives.
Requirements:
  • Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (or equivalent).
  • Developing expertise in 1 or more areas within the function, demonstrating sound understanding of complex statistical methods and models.
  • Validating the work of non-qualified and other recently qualified actuaries.
  • Good knowledge of a variety of actuarial models and controls and their commercial application/implication.
