Principal Auditor

The successful candidate will play a key role in our internal audit team, providing high-quality audit services to our clients across the North East and Cumbria regions. As a Principal Auditor, you will be responsible for delivering audits and reviews in line with time targets and budgets, working unsupervised and taking ownership of audit projects from planning to report issue.
Main Responsibilities- Evaluate existing client practices and procedures to identify areas for improvement and mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement effective internal audit plans, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Work closely with client managers to gain acceptance of recommendations and implement changes to improve systems of internal control.
- Support the Group Audit Manager in delivering commercial aspects of the audit process, including strategic and operational planning.

Requirements- Good standard of education to A level standard or equivalent.
- At least 3 years internal audit experience, preferably in the public sector.
- Good knowledge of internal audit methods and techniques, including risk-based audit.
- Knowledge of the principles of finance and non-financial NHS areas.
