About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Thoracic Oncology Dietitian to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with a dedicated AHP thoracic oncology team in the outpatient service, delivering high-quality care to patients with thoracic cancer.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert nutritional support to patients with thoracic cancer, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' nutritional needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to optimize their nutritional status.
- Develop and deliver educational programs for patients, carers, and healthcare professionals on nutrition and thoracic cancer.
- Collaborate with the dietetic team to develop and implement service improvement projects, ensuring high-quality care and excellent patient outcomes.
- Work closely with the AHP thoracic oncology team to develop and implement evidence-based practice guidelines for thoracic cancer care.
Requirements
- Substantial clinical experience in oncology dietetics, with a strong focus on thoracic cancer.
- Postgraduate training in behavior change and motivational interviewing.
- Sound clinical knowledge of thoracic cancer and its treatment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, with a strong focus on quality improvement and service development.
