About The Role

The Screening Officer will be the first point of contact for members of the public and professionals from partner agencies, providing a vital link between the community and the safeguarding services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answering calls to the safeguarding hub and responding to requests for information
  • Dealing with sensitive and complex cases, requiring a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Signposting families to relevant services and support agencies
  • Working collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure effective communication and information sharing
  • Providing administrative support to the safeguarding team, including data entry and record-keeping

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual with experience of working with families and services in a safeguarding context. You will be expected to handle a variety of different tasks and be confident in your ability to maintain confidentiality and apply data protection principles.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a safeguarding or child protection role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in IT and able to use a range of software applications
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion
