Job Title: Functional Safety Engineer

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Functional Safety Engineer to join our Engineering team at EVEREC. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional development teams to ensure the development of safety requirements for all projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of safety requirements and ensure their implementation across the entire development and verification cycle.
  • Provide guidance and support on Functional Safety requirements, including Item Definition, Hazard Identification, Hazard Analysis, and Risk Assessments.
  • Drive the development of best practice procedures for functional safety activities.
  • Develop and maintain the functional safety requirements management system to ensure traceability across the functional safety lifecycle of projects.
  • Act as a single point of accountability for the delivery of functional safety work products.
  • Present safety analysis and arguments to educate stakeholders and influence design decisions.
  • Participate in technical reviews and supplier workshops.
  • Create and maintain formal documents, including HARA, Safety Plans, FSC, TSC, FMEA, Safety Case, and DIA.
  • Keep status trackers up to date, showing the status of all responsible projects.
  • Collaborate with the project manager, development team, and customers to ensure achievement of safety requirements.
  • Conduct Functional Safety Audits.

Requirements:

  • Evidence of ISO 26262 certification and training.
  • Demonstratable detailed understanding of ISO 26262.
  • Ability to conduct and review HARA, FTA, and FMEA.
  • Experience with Functional Safety Management Systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical/electronics/software design.
  • Previous experience in a functional safety role.
