Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Functional Safety Engineer to join our Engineering team at EVEREC. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional development teams to ensure the development of safety requirements for all projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of safety requirements and ensure their implementation across the entire development and verification cycle.
- Provide guidance and support on Functional Safety requirements, including Item Definition, Hazard Identification, Hazard Analysis, and Risk Assessments.
- Drive the development of best practice procedures for functional safety activities.
- Develop and maintain the functional safety requirements management system to ensure traceability across the functional safety lifecycle of projects.
- Act as a single point of accountability for the delivery of functional safety work products.
- Present safety analysis and arguments to educate stakeholders and influence design decisions.
- Participate in technical reviews and supplier workshops.
- Create and maintain formal documents, including HARA, Safety Plans, FSC, TSC, FMEA, Safety Case, and DIA.
- Keep status trackers up to date, showing the status of all responsible projects.
- Collaborate with the project manager, development team, and customers to ensure achievement of safety requirements.
- Conduct Functional Safety Audits.
Requirements:
- Evidence of ISO 26262 certification and training.
- Demonstratable detailed understanding of ISO 26262.
- Ability to conduct and review HARA, FTA, and FMEA.
- Experience with Functional Safety Management Systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical/electronics/software design.
- Previous experience in a functional safety role.
