The Hygiene Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all hygiene-related activities within the facility, ensuring compliance with pest control measures and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all hygiene functions at the Flint Manufacturing Site, ensuring that cleaning and sanitation operations meet the standards set by Oscar Mayer.
- Ensure that all personnel adhere to safety protocols and that the Hygiene Team executes tasks according to established procedures and schedules.
- Conduct Hygiene Audits and collaborate with various departments to ensure timely resolution of any issues identified.
- Effectively allocate hygiene resources, manage the team, and adhere to the hygiene budget.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
Ensure that hygiene operations are conducted safely and in accordance with Oscar Mayer's standards. Be knowledgeable about company protocols regarding emergency evacuations, incident reporting, and food safety. Promote a culture of safety among staff and ensure that procedures are regularly updated and audited.
Essential Duties:
- Oversee all Hygiene Operatives and pest control activities.
- Perform regular audits of hygiene operations and document actions for resolution. Develop and maintain a hygiene improvement plan based on audit outcomes and microbiological results.
- Ensure that the cleaning schedule is adhered to and completed by the end of each shift.
- Communicate with Production Managers regarding any issues that may impact hygiene operations or production processes.
- Manage daily operations of Hygiene Operatives, including:
- Leave management
- Attendance tracking
- Human Resources investigations and disciplinary actions
- Follow-up on absence issues
- Timely resolution of action items
- Coordinate with the Shift Engineering Supervisor regarding equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Address any outstanding engineering issues affecting hygiene operations and escalate as necessary.
- Ensure all hygiene staff receive comprehensive training and understand the importance of accurate documentation related to hygiene controls.
- Motivate staff to achieve the highest standards of hygiene and maintain awareness of health and safety issues.
- Oversee documentation within the Hygiene department to ensure compliance with customer codes of practice.
- Maintain up-to-date Hygiene Control documentation, ensuring it meets audit standards.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene for machinery and facilities, including offices, corridors, restrooms, and break areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and personal hygiene regulations.
- Support the Technical Department during audits and lead hygiene requirements during these evaluations.
- Address staffing issues, including grievances, in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Conduct investigations and disciplinary actions as needed, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
- Perform annual staff appraisals to identify areas for improvement and training needs.
- Complete additional duties as required to support the hygiene department and meet business objectives.
- Participate in projects outside of regular responsibilities as directed by management.
Work Schedule:
- Covering 5 shifts, totaling 40 hours, to ensure both day and night hygiene operations are completed to the required standards.
- General working hours will typically be Monday to Friday, with flexibility based on business needs.
