_**SCOPE OF JOB ROLE**_

Responsible for the operation of various production equipment and manual processes in order to manufacture products to clearly defined specifications. This position is required to carry out in-process quality checks, make basic machine adjustments and carry out a clean as you go policy all within acceptable safe working standards and good manufacturing practices

**KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB ROLE**

**Skills and ability**

Organise own work place in order to optimise output & quality.

High degree of manual dexterity required.

Ability to maintain concentration regarding quality monitoring.

Acquire the skills to be able to perform a wide range of manual tasks..

**Communication**

Must be able to liaise with colleagues to build good working relationships & work as part of a team.

**Responsibility**

To observe all manufacturing procedures and perform functional safety check prior to starting & during production operations.

Report immediately to the Line Leader or Production Supervisor any non-compliances with respect to machine, manufacturing or safety standards.

Monitor all materials handled, to ensure that they are of the required quality.

Rotate through each operating station within the production line(s) / machines and perform each function within acceptable operating parameters. By way of example, operating stations include the following:

- all filling machines
- crimping machines
- L-sealers
- bag sealers
- tamper film sealer
- solo lidding station
- labelling (both machine & hand apply)
- overwrapper
- Make minor machine adjustments to maintain continuous operations
- Monitor fill weights
- Monitor and report material utilisation so that material waste rates are minimised on each shift. Sort waste material into various categories and maintain accurate records.
- Perform machine / line sanitisation procedures in accordance with the Company’s Good Manufacturing Practices.

To maintain an open mind at all times to allow effective resolution of both short and long term issues, whether basic or complex in their nature.

Demonstrate a commitment to the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environment performance by their own actions.

Consider their own and others Health & Safety and comply with Health, Safety & Environmental standards at all times.

Perform tasks, and operate / use equipment/machinery only to the level of their training and competence.

Assess the Health, Safety & Environmental risks before they carry out tasks and seek advice if they are uncertain.

Follow site rules / systems and not improvise or compromise where Health, Safety & Environmental standards could be jeopardized.

Take action whenever they believe that any act, their own or others, contravenes Health, Safety & Environmental standards.

Report all accidents, injuries, property damage and near misses.

**Organisational ability & GMP**

Ability to organise own work load within the confines of the requirements of the department and business as a whole.

Ensure that they comply with the Company’s GMP Standard and wear the appropriate work wear correctly.

All employees are responsible for ensuring that their workplace is maintained in a clean and tidy manner.

**EDUCATIONAL OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**

Previous experience, preferably working within an environment which manufactures hygienic / consumer packaged goods. Not essential.

Capable of learning and practising technical task / skills, such as making minor machine adjustments and basic machine maintenance.
