Position Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting analytical chemistry evaluations on both finished products and raw materials within a laboratory that adheres to ISO standards. This role is integral to a dynamic quality control team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where effective execution of responsibilities is crucial for meeting testing timelines, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving departmental safety and quality goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing for raw materials and finished products in accordance with established standard operating procedures, ensuring timely and efficient results.
  • Perform sampling and testing of water.
  • Utilize FTIR for identification processes.
  • Conduct Karl Fischer Analysis, HPLC, and ICPMS.
  • Reconstitute powder media and perform comprehensive specification testing.
  • Oversee calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Assist in initiating and implementing validation processes, technical investigations, and improvement initiatives.
  • May be tasked with additional related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate product test records in line with internal testing protocols and ISO 13485 standards.
  • Support and uphold the company's Safety, Environmental, and Waste Management programs.
  • Engage in personal development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the position.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in biological sciences and/or chemistry is required.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a biotechnology or similar manufacturing setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficient aseptic techniques are essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellence are necessary.
  • Ability to troubleshoot laboratory-related issues and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a diverse team.
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Working Conditions:

This position operates within a laboratory environment. Candidates must be able to safely handle chemicals and hazardous materials, perform manual handling tasks, and be flexible regarding overtime and shift requirements.
