Join Our Team as a Principal Fire Protection Consultant

This position involves collaboration with a key client on one of Europe's most significant infrastructure initiatives, focusing on innovative, ambitious, and environmentally responsible solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the formulation of strategies, requirements, specifications, and standards for fire engineering design, covering aspects such as evacuation, compartmentation, detection and alarm systems, and fire suppression systems.
  2. Offer technical guidance and expertise in fire engineering to both internal teams and external stakeholders as necessary.
  3. Contribute to the technical assurance of fire engineering disciplines, including safety documentation and technical files to ensure compliance with current fire safety regulations and established standards.
  4. Facilitate the management of interactions between fire systems and other infrastructure components.
  5. Support the Qualitative Design Review (QDR) process by identifying specific fire prevention and protection challenges and requirements.
  6. Conduct risk assessments in line with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.
  7. Assist in the effective liaison and engagement with Fire and Rescue Services throughout all project phases (design, construction, operational).
  8. Engage with relevant internal teams affected by fire engineering design, particularly in Infrastructure Management, Railway Systems, Technical Services, asset projects, and contract management.
  9. Perform fire safety inspections and audits during the construction, testing, and commissioning phases of the project.
  10. Contribute to the development of Emergency Plans and assist in the planning and execution of both tabletop and live exercises.
  11. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of fire engineering and life safety, staying updated on legislative requirements and best practices.
  12. Promote and integrate Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles in all aspects of work, supporting and adhering to organizational policies and initiatives on EDI.

Qualifications: Relevant Fire Safety certifications are essential, with a preference for experience in large-scale buildings or infrastructure projects.
