About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Residential Care Manager to lead our team at Step Forward Care Limited. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our children's residential home, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for our young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement individualized care plans for each child, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure their unique needs are met.
  2. Lead and manage a team of staff, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure they have the skills and confidence to deliver exceptional care.
  3. Oversee the recruitment, induction, and training of new staff, ensuring they are equipped to work with children with complex needs.
  4. Manage the home's budget, ensuring effective financial management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external agencies, including local authorities, social services, and other stakeholders.
  6. Ensure the home is compliant with all relevant regulations, including Ofsted requirements, and maintain a high level of quality in all aspects of care.
  7. Participate in on-call rota, providing 24/7 support to the team and ensuring the home is always staffed to meet the needs of our young people.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 3 years' experience working in children's residential care, with a proven track record of leadership and management.
  2. Experience of working with children with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties, and a deep understanding of their needs.
  3. Minimum 1 year's experience in a management role, with a strong focus on staff development and training.
  4. Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and the Children's Homes Regulations, with a proven ability to maintain high standards of care.
  5. Management qualification, such as a Level 5 in Leadership and Management, and a Diploma in Residential Childcare.
  6. Full driving license and ability to travel as required.
