Freight Personnel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager - Freight and Logistics to join our team. Key Responsibilities- Day-to-Day Operations: Manage the day-to-day running of our Basildon warehouse and freight office, ensuring policies and procedures are followed in accordance with company mandates and external certifications.
- Branch Development: Assist in the development and maintenance of a high-performing, customer-focused branch facility, implementing and managing strategic and operational plans to meet short and long-term objectives and goals.
- Employee Management: Ensure employees are trained, measured, and managed in the execution of company operational processes and standards, negotiating and monitoring supplier contracts as necessary.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare timely, accurate management information and reporting as required, supporting the teams in their daily duties and addressing failures and analyzing root cause.
- Client Liaison: Serve as a client liaison and escalation point for problems, ensuring service levels are maintained and supporting the teams in their daily duties.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated track record in leading/managing operations teams, with strong leadership, financial analysis, negotiation, and customer satisfaction skills.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge and experience of all transport modes (Air, Ocean, and Road), 3PL, and warehousing activities, with knowledge of Customs formalities and AEO experience.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, change management, and presentation skills (written and verbal), with the ability to effectively resolve customer complaints and problems.
- Organizational Skills: Organized with an excellent attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum.
- Annual Leave: 31 days, increasing by 1 day per year after 3 years' service, up to a maximum of 36 days.
- Volunteer Day: 1 additional paid day per year to give back to the local community.
