The Role

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Verification Engineer to become a vital part of Arm's Solution Engineering FPGA Verification and Validation team. This position focuses on advanced embedded design centered around Arm's intellectual property products.

Our team develops comprehensive hardware development platforms that leverage Arm's custom system-on-chip (SoC) and FPGAs. These platforms are essential for software development and validation activities, serving both our external partners and internal development teams.

As a member of this team, your daily responsibilities will primarily involve driving the verification of SoC RTL designs tailored for FPGA implementation. You will be tasked with developing and maintaining SoC verification testbenches, writing test cases in C, reusing existing C test cases from our internal IP/SoC frontend team, creating detailed test plans, and developing automation tools using scripting languages such as Python and shell scripts.

If you are interested in a role that merges hardware and software expertise in an environment where you can contribute meaningfully and collaborate with a dedicated team that creates innovative SoC solutions, we would be eager to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with design and verification teams across various disciplines to define testing scenarios and develop tests to address those scenarios.
  • Propose enhancements to expand the scope and effectiveness of our testing efforts.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of SoC verification using C test cases, along with proficiency in hardware description and verification languages such as SystemVerilog, Verilog, and VHDL.
  • Experience with systems utilizing AMBA bus standards including AXI, AHB, APB, and CHI.
  • Familiarity with EDA simulation tools for testing and debugging, such as VCS, Questasim, and Cadence.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Perl and Python.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:

  • Understanding of fundamental computer architecture concepts.
  • Experience with ARM-based designs and/or ARM system architectures.
  • Familiarity with ARM debugging and tracing features such as ARM DS and DSTREAM.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog and verification methodologies like UVM/OVM.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Experience in porting peripheral driver software.

In Return:

You will have the opportunity to enhance your expertise, face challenges, and work with cutting-edge technologies. Collaborating with various engineering teams, including software, SoC implementation, and verification, you will engage in in-depth technical discussions and work alongside top-tier multifunctional engineering teams. Your experience and skills will be instrumental in fostering collaboration with external ODMs and contractors, building valuable relationships and partnerships.
