Job Description:

As a key member of the TVS Supply Chain Solutions UK & Europe team, the Procurement Strategist will play a crucial role in driving business growth, increasing margins, and implementing cost-saving initiatives.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to support business objectives, ensuring competitive commercial offerings and solution designs.
  • Provide strategic purchasing input and support to the Business Development team, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Lead Supply Chain Management activities to drive commodity strategies creation and cost reduction plans, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify and develop new supply chains to support business objectives, maintaining close working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Produce commercial modeling and pricing proposals for bid submissions, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic procurement input to ensure competitive commercial offerings and solution designs for new business opportunities.
  • Lead large-scale commercial pricing projects, identifying risks and opportunities, and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Create and develop strategic long-term category strategies with a time plan and cost/benefit proposal, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Create and deliver strategic bid presentations, representing the procurement function in internal and external meetings, and negotiating key commercial data and supplier agreements.
  • Identify and mitigate supply and commercial risks within the supply chain, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Review contracts and terms and conditions, identifying procurement risks and responsibilities, and developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Support bid writing and gathering of information required for bid submission, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Negotiate all key commercial data and supplier agreements relative to a specific project, ensuring competitive pricing and terms.
  • Lead strategic supplier negotiations to eliminate/reduce costs and obtain preferential terms, maintaining strong relationships with key vendors.
  • Implement supplier rebates and other mechanisms for obtaining cost reduction, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Build and drive relationships with key vendors to improve pricing and quality of services, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop strong and effective external client relationships to ensure the needs of the customer are understood and met, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental key processes, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure part compliance and product attribute data is maintained and available, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications and Experience:
  • Previous significant experience in a procurement sourcing environment, with a proven track record of driving business growth and cost savings.
  • Bid work experience, engaging with strategic suppliers to ensure competitive commercial position, and developing strategies to mitigate risks.
  • MCIPS qualified or working towards, with a strong understanding of procurement principles and practices.
  • Experience in project management and/or managing a large programme of work from sourcing to delivery, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Strategic sourcing experience, developing category and sourcing strategies across multiple stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Able to lead a project team independently, as well as work as part of a team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Evidence of stakeholder management, with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to present information in a clear, concise manner up to senior leadership team level, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Professional and ethical in approach, with a strong commitment to company values and policies.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels across all media, with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable track record in managing direct relationships with major suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and terms.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a strong understanding of procurement principles and practices.
  • Able to identify opportunities for improvement, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and improve processes.
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel, with a strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sector experience in the following markets desirable (but not essential): Defence, Automotive, Utilities, Beverage equipment.
