Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Academic Officer. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and secure maintenance of pupil attendance records, monitoring pupil punctuality, and initiating post-registration absence checks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a first point of contact for parents and ensure that the Academy system of pupil registration is correctly administered.
  • Organize and manage administrative procedures related to pupil attendance records, including monitoring punctuality and initiating absence checks.
  • Liaise with staff, parents, and senior leadership team to resolve attendance issues and ensure parents are aware of their child's current attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with Academy policies and GDPR guidelines.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Academy database, including ensuring pupil and staff timetables are accurate.
  • Support senior leadership team and senior administrator in organizing special events and ensuring the effective and efficient running of the Academy.
  • Develop positive relationships with pastoral support and learning support teams to promote pupil welfare and improve attendance rates.
  • Communicate effectively within the community and contribute to the development and implementation of the trust's five-year plan, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in education or related field preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
