About the Litigation Team Leader Lawyer Role

Sellick Partnership is currently working with a striving Local Authority in the East Midlands that are seeking a qualified Litigation Lawyer on a permanent basis.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with initiative, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a real commitment to the job. This is a great opportunity to join a tight-knit, friendly team.

Both full-time and part-time applicants will be considered, however, full-time is preferred.

The successful Litigation Lawyer will be responsible for:

  • Providing legal advice and representation in relation to litigation and regulatory work, including possession claims, anti-social behaviour claims, disrepair claims, taxi licensing, premises licensing, and environmental offences.
  • Supervising and developing staff within the legal team, admin team, and information governance team, including identifying training needs and development opportunities.
  • Assisting the Head of Legal and Support Services and Legal Services Team Manager on any other legal matters arising, as required.

The role is predominantly remote working, however, the council hosts a number of team days and meetings where in-person attendance is a must, along with court attendance as and when needed.

Experience required for the Litigation Lawyer role:

Prospective candidates need to be a qualified solicitor, legal executive, or barrister and to have previous experience of Litigation Law, and Local Authority Law, and hold a full UK driving licence.
