Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant to join our team at Vinney Green Secure Children's Home. As a Night Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the welfare and care of young people during the evening and night time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and Support: Monitor all young people at least every five to fifteen minutes to ensure their safety and security. Provide reassurance and support to enable them to have a good night's sleep.
  • Medication and Hygiene: Enter bedrooms to issue non-prescribed medication and personal hygiene materials as necessary.
  • Emergency Response: Answer buzzers from young people immediately and assist in any way.
  • Breakfast and Room Cleaning: Wake young people and supervise breakfast and room cleaning as required.
  • Record Keeping: Record and maintain written records when necessary.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in a relevant subject area or a good standard of education.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Client Care: Ability to help clients cater for their personal needs in a sensitive and professional manner.
  • Experience: Knowledge or previous experience of dealing with young people who present challenging behavior.
Working Arrangements

This role is part of a shift pattern, working an average of 37 hours per week, following a designated shift pattern. The home operates a full non-smoking environment, and staff are required to leave personal belongings in a provided locker on entry into the building.
