Position Overview

The Room Supervisor role is situated within an esteemed nursery, catering to children aged 0-5 years. Our expansive facility is divided into four distinct rooms, and we pride ourselves on our strong partnerships with families. We are in search of a passionate and experienced individual to enhance our nursery team. This full-time position requires a candidate with a solid background in working with children aged 3-5 years.

Key Responsibilities

The Room Supervisor will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of early years education in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework while ensuring that safeguarding practices are upheld. Responsibilities include:
  • Leading and mentoring team members to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Facilitating the onboarding process for new staff and students by providing essential guidance.
  • Demonstrating effective techniques and processes to enhance team performance.
  • Providing responsive support to parents and colleagues.
  • Managing stakeholder requirements to ensure an exceptional experience.
  • Addressing routine queries from parents and coordinating bookings for activities.
  • Documenting children's developmental progress accurately and preparing reports as needed.
  • Coordinating with external agencies regarding children's development.
  • Implementing professional and regulatory procedures consistently.
  • Collaborating with staff across the organization to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Offering guidance to parents on EYFS resources and equipment.
  • Leading initiatives in partnership with other agencies for service planning and delivery.
  • Preparing for nursery activities and events in collaboration with team members.
  • Maintaining accurate records related to children's development and service quality.
  • Acting as a key holder, ensuring compliance with nursery policies.
  • Guiding the implementation of the EYFS framework to deliver a balanced curriculum.
  • Contributing to inspections and understanding regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of children in accordance with policies.
  • Conducting audits of children's attendance and addressing concerns as necessary.
  • Upholding the University's Equal Opportunities Policy and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Working shifts from Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends for training.
  • Undergoing an Enhanced DBS Check.
