Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our supportive team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping SEMH pupils succeed and will be skilled in creating engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lesson Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that cater to the diverse needs of Secondary SEMH pupils, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  2. Individualized Learning Plans: Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student, promoting academic growth and achievement.
  3. Classroom Management: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement, motivation, and achievement, while effectively managing classroom behavior.
  4. Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with other staff members to provide holistic support for students, ensuring a comprehensive and supportive learning experience.
  5. Progress Monitoring and Feedback: Monitor and assess students' progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as needed to ensure optimal student outcomes.
  6. Professional Development: Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
Requirements:
  1. Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential for this role.
  2. Experience: Experience working with SEMH pupils is highly desirable, but not mandatory.
  3. Skills and Abilities: Strong understanding of SEMH needs and effective strategies to support them, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to inspire and motivate students, patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.

All candidates will be subject to standard vetting checks, including DBS and reference checks. Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and we undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training, and all candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
