About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting patients with spinal cord injuries to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on spinal cord injury rehabilitation, including assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and social needs, and develop tailored care plans to address these needs.
- Collaborate with community teams to ensure seamless transitions and ongoing support for patients.
- Develop and deliver training programs for healthcare professionals and community staff on spinal cord injury rehabilitation and care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in spinal cord injury rehabilitation.
Requirements
- Relevant professional qualification, such as Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, or RGN, with extensive experience working with people with disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex rehabilitation challenges.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
