Overview:
Orwell Consulting Ltd is a reputable firm specializing in facilities management and maintenance services, primarily focused on the residential sector. We are seeking a Lead Cost Consultant to enhance our team, contributing to our commitment to delivering exceptional building maintenance solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development and management of contract budgets and forecasts to ensure financial oversight and profitability of assigned contracts.
  • Collaborate with team objectives and align with the company's strategic business plan.
  • Foster and maintain commercial relationships with both prospective and existing clients.
  • Ensure strong communication and relationships with all housing clients.
  • Lead and participate in meetings with clients and subcontractors.
  • Manage subcontractor and client valuation accounts to support effective project governance and financial management.
  • Assist the Service Delivery Manager and Operations Manager in pre-start planning, project execution strategies, and contract engagement.
  • Coordinate with senior management on contractual matters and act as necessary.
  • Measure project progress, submit valuations, and manage final accounts and retention releases, ensuring timely payment receipt.
  • Process subcontractor payment requests in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain and complete cost and value budget plans and reports for designated projects.
  • Monitor project costs to keep both the company and clients informed of financial status and contract variations.
  • Conduct periodic valuations of completed works.
  • Prepare monthly cost/value comparisons for submission.
  • Develop and manage contract budgets and forecasts effectively.
  • Maximize cash flow and evaluate quotations and estimates.
  • Prepare monthly valuation and final account submissions for clients.
  • Authorize and agree on subcontractor payments.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting as required.
  • Generate budget reports for both client and internal use.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • HND/HNC Level qualification in a relevant construction-related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of construction technology.
  • Previous experience in the Social Housing, Facilities Management, Mechanical & Electrical, or Maintenance sectors.
