Role Overview: The Manufacturing Engineer will play a vital role in enhancing production efficiency through effective process definition, routing, takt timing, and production flow management. This position involves regular assessments to ensure optimal line balancing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings to evaluate production implications and facilitate advanced planning.
- Lead initiatives aimed at continuous productivity improvements to enhance Cost of Goods Sold (COGs).
- Collaborate closely with the procurement team to secure high-quality materials at competitive costs.
- Engage with suppliers to guarantee that components meet the required specifications and quality standards.
- Work alongside the Site Production Manager to optimize production planning processes.
- Oversee production Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), including the management of material transitions and processes.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a manufacturing engineer, particularly in electrical/electronic domains, with knowledge of PCBA and box building processes being advantageous.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and apply Design for Manufacture principles, including DFMEA, Control Plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Skilled in translating engineering specifications into accessible production guidelines.
- Expertise in line balancing, process flow analysis, and takt time planning, along with familiarity with 5S methodologies.
- Experience in leading Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) activities to drive process and procurement enhancements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RA) and Corrective Action (CA) methodologies, including 5 Whys and 8D approaches.
