Role Overview:
The Psychological Support Associate will deliver psychological contributions under the guidance of qualified psychologists and trainees, collaborating with the Multi-Disciplinary Team and service users. This role involves providing specialized psychological evaluations, formulations, and interventions within the boundaries of professional expertise and experience, all under the supervision of qualified psychologists.
The position requires adherence to professional standards and the overarching policies and procedures of the Department. The role also involves utilizing research capabilities for audits, policy enhancements, and service development as requested by qualified personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist qualified and trainee psychologists in executing the psychological treatment pathway and ensuring the quality of psychological services.
- Conduct specialized psychological assessments for service users, employing a variety of data sources, including psychological tests, self-reports, rating scales, and structured interviews, under qualified supervision.
- Contribute to the formulation of care plans based on a comprehensive understanding of service users' issues, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic methods under the guidance of qualified psychologists.
- Implement a range of psychological interventions in both individual and group settings, under the supervision of qualified and trainee psychologists.
- Support treatment outcomes using appropriate measures and adapt interventions according to the service user's mental state and motivation, under qualified supervision.
- Contribute to a psychologically informed framework of care benefiting all service users across various settings and agencies, under qualified supervision.
- Assist in the implementation of best practice guidelines, including NICE guidelines and Department of Health recommendations for psychological services.
- Participate in psychological, behavioral, and risk assessments, contributing to the risk assessment process through the collection of relevant information.
