Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in supplier development within the defence sector or similar environment.

The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer will work closely with the Quality Team to lead and undertake supplier audits, report on Key Performance Indicators, and assist in the supplier approval process.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical engineering drawings, as well as experience in coaching and developing internal and external stakeholders in Quality Assurance Tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and undertake supplier audits and report on Key Performance Indicators through objective assessments of supply chain performance and product quality.
  • Assist in the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risks.
  • Carry out and coach the supplier base in Material Review Boards, Root Cause Corrective Action, Non-Conformance Management, design, and development phases of programmes.
  • Work with in-house Engineering, Design and Manufacturing departments to define process parameters ensuring that supplier process capability is effective to meet design intent.
  • Knowledge and experience of coaching and developing internal and external stakeholders in Quality Assurance Tools such as PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, First Article Inspection Reports and Part Submission Warrants.
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, ISO45001:2018 and Defence AQAP's.
  • Knowledge of measurement techniques including Metrology, Inspection Methods, and Equipment.
Requirements
  • Proven history with in Defence or Automotive of supply chain management.
  • HND/HNC in manufacturing/engineering or relevant experience.
