Senior Pensions Actuarial Consultant

Mercer is seeking a highly skilled Senior Pensions Actuarial Consultant to join our team in Manchester. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide clients with expert advice on funding, investment, risk transfer, and covenant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver customized advice and solutions to clients, focusing on DB pension schemes.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Act as a technical expert, providing guidance on actuarial calculations and pension schemes.
  • Supervise and mentor junior colleagues, providing feedback and guidance.
  • Participate in new business prospect activity and contribute to the growth of our pension services.
  • Monitor and manage fee budgets, ensuring efficient delivery of services.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience working with trustees and/or corporates on DB pensions within an actuarial consultancy role.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, adaptability, and a desire to work with clients.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • A strong understanding of actuarial approaches for pensions and UK pension schemes.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities, with a focus on prioritizing and completing work.
