About the Role

Vistry Group PLC is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team in a key role that will play a crucial part in the success of our construction projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all costs related to our projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and control project costs, including procurement, subcontract management, and final account settlement.
  • Develop and implement cost management strategies to optimize project profitability and minimize costs.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure that all contract documentation is completed and stored centrally, and that compliance with commercial and company procedures is maintained.
  • Present and agree external valuations with clients, and price and agree variations with clients.
  • Prepare and manage key and large risk subcontract accounts from inception to final accounts.
  • Subcontract procurement strategy and implementation, ensuring that packages cover the scope of the works.
  • Check and ensure compliance and issuing of timely Payment and Pay less notices to Subcontractors.
  • Prepare monthly CVR & VCA reports for presentation to the Business Unit Management.
  • Monitor risk and opportunity schedules and manage risk from Commencement to Completion.
  • Contribute to the management of life of site cost & revenue forecasts across multi-phase developments.
  • As part of the project team, help shape the long-term delivery strategy for the project.
  • Provide input and cost and value engineering advice throughout the design life of the scheme and attend design team meetings.
  • Manage and undertake the personal development reviews of associated surveying resources, including training.
  • Ensure a proactive approach to dispute avoidance.
  • Ensure company health and safety standards and procedures are followed throughout the team.
  • Liaise with the Customer Service department on post-completion defects, providing cost advice where necessary.
  • Attend site meetings, project team meetings, subcontractor meetings, and surveying meetings as required.
