Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider to fill a crucial Safeguarding Officer position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the timely reporting and addressing of safeguarding concerns, providing exceptional support to students.
  • Empower students to access relevant support services independently, building their confidence and knowledge.
  • Understand the challenges faced by vulnerable students, such as care leavers or those with mental health issues, and provide crisis intervention when needed.

Requirements

  • Handle and respond to emails and phone calls about student welfare and safety, adhering to established guidelines.
  • Provide support to students with extra needs, such as young parents, young carers, ESOL students, and vulnerable adults, helping them stay in their course whenever possible.
  • Offer immediate assistance to ensure young people and vulnerable adults are safe and protected.
  • Address any safeguarding issues, ensuring compliance with current laws and legal responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with teams to provide proper support and accommodations for students with high needs.
