Job Overview

The role of Facilities Operations Supervisor is crucial to enhancing our patient care experience. The selected candidate will collaborate with fellow Supervisors and share the responsibility of overseeing approximately 80 staff members engaged in cleaning and portering services.

Our Supervisors are expected to assist with cleaning and portering duties during periods of staff shortages or heightened demand. Additionally, they will manage the distribution and collection of cleaning supplies to various departments, necessitating candidates to maintain a good level of physical fitness.

Core Working Hours

Zone 5&6, Supervisor, 35 hours per week, with a combination of two distinct shift patterns - 5 days out of 7, including weekends and public holidays.

During your scheduled hours, you may be called upon to cover for other Facilities Supervisors as needed, depending on operational requirements.

Additional compensation for night shifts, public holidays, and weekend work is available as part of this role.

To qualify for this position, it is advantageous to have experience in a fast-paced NHS environment or a background in cleaning or portering services. Experience Requirements

Essential

  • Knowledge of cleaning, deep cleaning, and portering services.
  • Experience with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
  • Ability to work independently following established work plans.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with National and NHS regulations regarding cleaning standards and Food Hygiene Regulations.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to GCSE level or relevant experience.
  • Willingness to undertake further training.

Desirable

  • Qualification in computer systems - NVQ / EDL (European Driving Licence).
  • Food Hygiene Qualification.
  • NVQ/BICS - Cleaning.
  • NVQ/ILM - 2/3 in Team Leading.
