A proven track record in leadership, alongside significant experience in staff and budget management, is essential. Candidates should be results-oriented, have led complex change initiatives, and possess a history of enhancing service and staff performance.

Central to this role is the ongoing engagement of clinical managers in a complex, specialized environment to collaboratively deliver annual business planning. This includes ensuring adequate capacity and capability to meet both local and national priorities while supporting the organization in advancing research and private care initiatives. The successful candidate will also play a crucial role in exploring new strategic opportunities and alternative service delivery models across our network.

The Senior Clinical Nurse Leader will be expected to step in for the Clinical Director when necessary.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

The Cancer Services division is structured into three Clinical Business Units (CBUs):

CBU1: Breast, Plastics, Lung, Acute Oncology Service, and Home Care CBU2: Haematology, Head & Neck, Neuro-oncology, and Children & Young People CBU3: GI, Gynaecology, and Urology

The post holder will work alongside the existing Clinical Nurse Leaders and will be responsible for CBU1, as well as leading strategic divisional initiatives and Trust-wide programs.
