We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Ecologist to join our team at Neo Environmental Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality ecological services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct ecological surveys, including Phase 1/Fossitt habitat surveys and IVC's, protected species scoping surveys, and bat surveys.
- Produce comprehensive reports, including preliminary ecological appraisals, ecological impact assessments, EIA chapters, biodiversity management plans, protected species reports, and Appropriate Assessments/Natura Impact Statements.
- Liaise with clients and statutory consultees, attend client and site meetings, and undertake ECoW roles as required.
- Provide line management and team leadership duties for the Ballymena office.
- Degree in ecology or a related field.
- Significant professional report writing experience.
- Good knowledge of Irish ecological legislation and regulations.
- Experience of Phase 1/Fossitt habitat surveys and IVC's.
- Technically competent and able to produce high-quality reports.
- Flexible and willing to travel across NI and ROI with occasional overnight stays.
- Full driving license and own transport.
- CIEEM accreditation.
- Demonstrable postgraduate experience in ecology surveys.
- Ornithology experience would be advantageous.
- Bat survey experience.
- GWDTE experience.
- Ecological Clerks of Works (ECoW) experience.
- Knowledge or experience using ArcGIS or similar.
- Other protected species survey experience and licenses.
