We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at TDM Recruitment. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the commercial team of a leading developer in the Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:- Cost Control & Budgeting: You will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of large-scale construction projects, ensuring that costs are accurately forecasted and controlled.
- Negotiation: You will negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best possible deals for the company.
- Subcontract Orders: You will oversee the preparation and management of subcontract orders, ensuring that all necessary documentation is in place.
- Valuations: You will conduct accurate site valuations and contract variations as necessary.
- Cost Value Reconciliation: You will reconcile costs and values to ensure that the company's financial interests are protected.
- Subcontracts Management: You will manage subcontractors and ensure that they are performing to the required standards.
- Variation: You will manage variations to contracts and ensure that they are properly documented and accounted for.
- Final Accounts: You will prepare and manage final accounts for construction projects.
- Benchmarking & Analysis of Build Costs: You will analyze build costs and benchmark them against industry standards to identify areas for improvement.
- Cost Engineering: You will apply cost engineering principles to optimize construction costs and improve efficiency.
- Qualifications: You must be a degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor or hold a HNC in a related field.
- Experience: You must have a minimum of 4 years of practical experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a proven track record of effective cost management.
- Background: You must have previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a housebuilder or main contractor.
- Skills: You must have a strong eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 basic salary (dependent on experience) + package.
- Discretionary Bonus: You will be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
- Private Health Care: You will be entitled to private health care.
- Agile Working Policy: You will be able to work flexibly under our agile working policy.
