The Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, under the guidance of the Commissioning Team Leader, is tasked with executing designated commissioning activities safely and efficiently, adhering to the established commissioning process standards. This role is tailored for individuals with a background in nuclear in-cell handler testing.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee arrangements for controlling, witnessing, documenting, and evaluating the outcomes of commissioning tests that may impact safety.
- Implement the commissioning work scope in accordance with an agreed strategy and plan, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Maintain a proactive and balanced focus on safety (nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental) to enhance safety during commissioning.
- Assess commissioning progress and performance, taking corrective measures as needed.
- Facilitate daily communication with personnel to secure necessary permissions and minimize project disruptions.
- Analyze commissioning test outcomes.
- Ensure the integration of contributions from other project processes, including design, HAZOP, risk management, contract, estimating, and knowledge management.
- Proven experience in commissioning nuclear mechanical systems.
- Minimum qualification: HNC/HND in an Engineering-related discipline or equivalent.
- Experience in nuclear commissioning.
- Familiarity with project management; APM membership is preferred.
- Competence in performing calculations using Excel.
- Capability to obtain BPSS and P4 Pass is essential for ongoing employment in this role.
- Proficiency with the latest versions of Microsoft Office software.
