Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced clinical leader with a background in Junior Sister roles, particularly in SACT, haematology-oncology, and stem cell transplantation.
Ward Information: The Bud Flanagan East Ward features 16 private, en suite rooms designed to provide a secure environment for adult patients undergoing intensive chemotherapy and haematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will possess a genuine enthusiasm for haemato-oncology and stem cell transplant nursing, coupled with the vision and dedication to enhance the quality of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership to the nursing and support staff, fostering a motivating and supportive environment while adhering to the trust's core values of innovation, excellence, collaboration, and compassion.
- Oversee a coordinated nursing service in collaboration with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
- Maintain clinical credibility through active practice and leverage nursing research and evidence-based care to improve patient outcomes.
- Regularly assess and review nursing practices, participating in audits that align with Trust policies and NMC guidelines.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure continuity of quality nursing care within the framework of Primary Team Nursing, adapting to the needs of patients and their families, including safe discharge processes.
- Monitor clinical incident trends and prevalence in accordance with the Trust's Clinical Governance guidelines, developing strategies to mitigate recurrence.
- Conduct initial assessments of patient and family needs, planning, delivering, and evaluating care throughout the patient's journey from admission to discharge, including complex care packages.
