Job Summary
The Full Time Program Director will be responsible for managing and developing our engineering team, consisting of mechanical, software, production, and electronics engineers. This is a full-time position based in our north London office.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Management
- Manage, develop, and mentor a team of engineers to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- Provide guidance and support to team members to help them achieve their full potential.
- Project Management
- Programme manage government-funded projects in collaboration with industrial partners and research universities.
- Conduct technical reviews and actively manage projects to ensure they are on time and on budget.
- Business Development
- Support business expansion plans and provide guidance to the management team on overseas business setup, logistics, and contract electronics manufacturing.
- Technical Management
- Provide electrical and electronics engineering recommendations and technical support on engineering reviews, strategic plans, and projects.
- Manage resource allocation, budgeting, resource planning, and scheduling.
- Manage unit and development cost estimations and help with sourcing raw materials for various products in development.
- Take a hands-on approach with electronics and electrical hardware-based products and help the engineering teams with testing, trouble shooting, and debugging products.
- Create project plans and maintain an up-to-date design and manufacturing process.
- Lead design reviews and create production plans in collaboration with Contract electronics manufacturing companies.
Requirements
- Experience in Industrial, Lithium battery, automotive, or aerospace markets.
- Experience in a Lead or engineering manager/technical project manager capacity.
- Experience working with Chinese and Indian suppliers will be a distinct advantage.
- Degree qualified in Engineering: Electronics, Power electronics, Electrical, or Mechatronics.
- Master's degree is preferred.
- Project management qualification PMP or Prince 2 is desirable.
