Senior Consultant in Anaesthesia at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust
An experienced Senior Consultant in Anaesthesia is sought to enhance the Anaesthetic services at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. This position will be integral to the team at Harrogate District Hospital, representing a strategic addition to the existing group of Consultants and SAS doctors in Anaesthesia. The role offers a chance to concentrate on perioperative care and may include managerial duties. Participation in the out-of-hours on-call rota is a necessary component of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver anaesthesia services for both elective and emergency patients
- Conduct outpatient clinics in accordance with the job plan
- Provide support to the Trust's medical emergency response teams
- Engage in on-call anaesthesia coverage
- Ensure adherence to national clinical guidelines

Required Qualifications
- Registration on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for registration within six months of CCT
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) or equivalent qualification
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification
Clinical Experience
- Minimum of five years of supervised training in anaesthesia
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
Research and Development
- Capability to apply research findings in clinical practice
- Publication in peer-reviewed medical journals is advantageous
