Sales Development Representative

Key Responsibilities
The Sales Executive is a vital component of the Commercial Sales team at Irish Ferries Freight, playing a pivotal role in driving revenue growth within the Freight division. To excel in this position, you will require a comprehensive understanding of the Freight Business and our services, enabling you to engage in meaningful conversations with customers.
Role and Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for senior commercial managers to support and generate new business opportunities, while closely monitoring business flows to ensure customers meet their agreed volume commitments.
- Manage current customers' requirements on a day-to-day basis, while also monitoring and pushing for agreed business flows, requiring a specific skillset to secure the best commercial outcome for the business.
- Be actively involved in ongoing business-related projects and changes, working in conjunction with the day-to-day management of the business.
- Proactively identify, locate, and qualify new business opportunities in the target market.
- Perform prospect outreach using calls, emails, and internal referrals to generate new sales opportunities and future pipeline.
- Follow up with prospects after arranged sales calls, with the aim of closing new business deals.
- Service general sales enquiries through internal referrals and customer interactions.
- Act as a trusted advisor in analysing customer needs, clarifying expectations, and successfully communicating and selling.
Requirements
- 2-3 years' relevant sales experience.
- Customer-focused, highly responsive, and collaborative.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Computer literate.
- Business acumen.
- Self-motivated, with a strong desire to succeed.
- Strong team player.
