The Lead Data Engineer will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the design, building, and optimization of our data orchestration and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data collection and flow for cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate is an experienced technical oriented Lead Data Engineer who enjoys data orchestration and optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. This role requires a deep understanding of data management / data engineering principles as they apply to scalability, and design of dynamic flexible data orchestration patterns. Additionally, the Lead Data Engineer will mentor and guide other engineers on best practices.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines.
- Implement efficient data processing techniques to handle large volumes of data.
- Develop and maintain data quality standards and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, product, business) to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest data technologies and trends.
- Mentor and guide other engineers on best practices for data engineering.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and principles.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of data modeling techniques and schema design.
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
