Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Intervention Teaching Assistant to join our team at a fantastic primary school in Hackney. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our KS2 pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the curriculum to small groups of KS2 pupils, ensuring they are fully engaged and reaching their full educational potential.
  • Monitor the development and progress of pupils, assisting them in developing a greater level of understanding of the work set out by the teacher.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP/ILPs) for pupils and help monitor their progress.
  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as those with specific learning difficulties and other barriers to learning.
  • Lead one-to-one and small group learning activities and sessions both in and out of the classroom.

Requirements:

  • A GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and Mathematics.
  • Experience working with children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Experience supporting children with specific learning difficulties and other barriers to learning.
  • Experience of, and confidence with, dealing with a range of challenging behaviors.
  • Emotional resilience and a motivated approach to challenge.
  • The desire to progress professionally within a nationally expanding child-focused service.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ICT skills.
  • A passion to make a real difference to the education and lives of young people.
