Job Description

VeeRteq Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our data security infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Data Security Controls: Design and implement database activity monitoring, sensitive data discovery, data loss prevention, and data at rest encryption controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data.
  • Assess and Remediate Risks: Identify applications transmitting sensitive data, assess existing controls for protection, and share remediation findings with the team.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with Client Information Security SMEs and project team members to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures: Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and runbooks based on best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise for scope refinement, work breakdown structure, and time estimation meetings to ensure accurate project planning.
  • Contribute to Operational Metrics: Provide data contributing to operational performance metrics to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Vendor Management: Interact with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve product issues and defects.
  • Status Updates: Provide status updates to all levels of Cyber Security management, including program and project management staff.
Mandatory Skills
  • Relevant Business and Systems Expertise: 8+ years of relevant business and systems subject matter expertise, especially in data security, data encryption, data discovery, and data loss prevention.
  • Lead Engineer Experience: Proven experience supporting data security and/or security projects as a Lead Engineer.
  • Business Process Analysis: Demonstrated knowledge in business process analysis, workflow task analysis, user acceptance testing, and requirements analysis.
  • Solution Engineering: Proven ability to engineer and design solutions for IBM Guardium DAM, Guardium VA, and Guardium GDE.
  • Tool Administration: Experience administering IBM Guardium, IBM Guardium Data Encryption, or Vormetric and DLP tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build consensus and agreement and resolve contentious issues and entrenched interests.
  • SDLC Methodology: Demonstrated successful use of Agile and/or Waterfall SDLC methodology.
  • Business Analysis Best Practices: Understanding of industry-standard Business Analysis Best Practices.
  • Office Tools: Excellent knowledge of Office tools, including Word, Excel, Project, and Visio.
Preferred Skills
  • SIEM Experience: Strong experience with security information and event management (SIEM).
  • Stress Management: Ability to troubleshoot issues under stress while maintaining relationships.
  • Requirements Management: Experience with Requirements Management tools.
  • Healthcare Industry Experience: Experience with the healthcare insurance industry, especially top healthcare industry plans.
Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or relevant work experience in data security engineering and operations.
