About the Role

Milestone Infrastructure, a leading provider of highways maintenance services, is seeking a skilled Highway Maintenance Operative to join their team in Totton. As a key member of the Depot Operations team, you will be responsible for a variety of duties, including pothole repairs, excavation works, and vegetation management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all highway maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company standards.
  • Operate plant, tools, and equipment necessary to complete work, maintaining a high standard of equipment care.
  • Install traffic management under instruction, adhering to method statements.
  • Participate in winter and emergency service duties as required.
  • Maintain accurate records, including drivers' hours, timesheets, and job feedback notes.
  • Keep vehicles clean and tidy, ensuring correct loading and waste management.
  • Support weather-related or emergency events, such as flooding prevention and debris clearance.
  • Assist in all highway maintenance work as instructed, dependent on experience and qualifications.
Requirements
  • HGV Class C driving license is highly desirable or ability to demonstrate capability to support investment in HGV Class C training during probationary period.
  • Experience working in a similar role or environment, undertaking a high level of manual and outdoor work in all weathers.
  • Highway maintenance experience preferred.
  • A full UK driving license.
  • CSCS card (training can be provided).
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the role and be flexible.
