Job Summary:

Step Teachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Assist teachers in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring students feel safe and supported.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers to ensure seamless support and progress.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and teaching staff to identify and address the needs of students with SEN.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with SEN.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting the SENCO and teaching staff.
  • Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the well-being and progress of students with SEN.
