About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Leasing and Finance Legal Specialist to join our team at TUI. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a vital role in supporting our Senior Legal Counsel and Director in the dynamic field of aircraft leasing and finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Legal Counsel in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating aircraft operating leases and other high-value commercial supply agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with legal aspects of deliveries and returns, including associated formalities, and work with stakeholders to discharge conditions precedent.
  • Maintain an understanding of the activity, strategic goals, and long-term plans of the Aircraft Leasing and Finance Team.
  • Provide direct support to the team, maintaining sufficient independence to offer arm's length counsel while becoming an integrated team member.
  • Build trust and respect based on demonstrable knowledge in this specialist area of law.
  • Be aware of compliance issues and advise the Director of Aircraft Leasing & Finance.
  • Take a proactive approach towards compliance issues and deliver training on compliance issues to the team as needed.
  • Identify, monitor, advise upon, and own legal risk in relation to the appointee's area of activity.
  • Complete or contribute to the completion of legal risk registers in relation to the appointee's area of activity.
  • Identify and implement controls and mitigating actions in relation to those areas of legal risk.

About You

We are looking for an Aviation Law Expert with:

High-order technical legal skills and proven knowledge and experience in the field of aviation law.Experience of drafting, negotiating, and reviewing aircraft operating leases and other high-value commercial supply agreements.Ability to communicate clearly and precisely in English, interpreting instructions from the business and translating complex legal ideas into easily understandable advice.A strategic approach that always has regard to the underlying goals, with a sufficient appetite for detail to ensure the job is seen through.A pragmatic, business-led approach that is alive to and can evaluate risk, recognizing that some levels of risk are acceptable in the context of business goals.English/Common law qualified, given the predominance of English law in aviation-related transactions.
