Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain the cleanliness of all areas identified by management, including communal spaces, landscaped areas, stairwells, fire escapes, landings, toilets, kitchens, lifts, and community rooms.
- Operate hand and power cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, buffers, mops, and brushes, to ensure a high standard of cleanliness.
- Perform caretaking duties, including unblocking rubbish chutes, checking fire safety equipment, rotating bins, and reporting faults.
- Work outside to clear rubbish and fly tipping, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our customers.
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections to identify any repairs or issues and report them to management.
- Carry out risk assessments prior to commencement of tasks and report on any hazards identified.
- Perform other duties as required, including delivering mail shots to properties and painting communal areas.
- Work weekends and evenings on a rota basis for bin work and emergencies.
- Be required to work in any area or district where Incommunities customers live.
Requirements
- Experience in a physical manual role, such as cleaning, caretaking, or refuse collection.
- Previous use of hand tools and/or power-operated equipment.
- Basic IT skills and experience using Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- A flexible and positive approach to work.
- Basic knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety Legislation.
- Physical strength and fitness, as a great deal of physical effort is required, including lifting and moving heavy and bulky items.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work as a team player, but also work alone.
- A full manual UK driving license, as you will be required to drive the van.
