Purpose of the RoleThis role is responsible for assisting in the efficient and economic production of quality food within the allowed budget, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving meals, as well as participating in staff and client meetings as required.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals.
- Participate in staff and client meetings as required.
- Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
- Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.
- Wash up after meals and ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately.
- Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Report immediately to the Home Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a client, colleague, self, or another.
- Understand and ensure the implementation of the Home's Health and Safety policy and Emergency and Fire procedures.
- Report to the Home Manager or the Handyperson any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment, or any potential hazard.
- Promote safe working practice in the Home.
- Ensure the security of the Home is maintained at all times.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales.
- Ensure all equipment is clean and well-maintained.
The successful candidate will require:
- A Level 2 Food/Hygiene Certificate.
- Good communication skills.
- Team player.
- Practical experience in working within a commercial kitchen environment.
This role will require working 17 hours per week, including alternate weekends.
